Volcanoes national park is a home to a total of 400 mountain gorillas which is half of the whole population of remain mountain gorillas in the world, in the park there are 10 habituated mountain gorillas families which are trekked during mountain gorilla experiences in Rwanda. This 3 days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari is an opportunity for you to experience this marvel.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival in Kigali at Kigali International Airport you will be picked up by a Native Expeditions Africa Safaris driver-guide then transferred for a city visiting various genocide memorial sites, art galleries and many other beautiful sites.
Later you will embark on a journey to Volcanoes national park, check into your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park
After breakfast on the second day of this tour, you will head to volcanoes national park headquarters for a briefing, after which you will be assigned a guided tracking group with other tourists and then the fun will begin.
When you find the mountain gorillas you are allowed to spend a maximum of one hour with them as you watch them. You are also allowed to take pictures. After this experience, we will exit the habitat of Mountain gorillas and then head back to your lodge for late lunch.
In the evening you have the option to either to have a community tour to the Ibyiwacu Cultural village which offers the best of Rwanda culture including music, dance and drama, store telling and many more or opt for a guided walk to explore the twin lakes of Burela and Ruhondo.
Dinner and overnight stay at accommodation of your choice
Day 3: Return to Kigali and departure
On the final day of this safari experience, you will transfer to Kigali city where you will have an optional city tour visiting places like markets, handcraft shops, national museums, and many more. Later have lunch and then be dropped off either at your hotel or the airport for your departure flight back home.
