Garamba National Park in DRC is one of Africa’s oldest national parks and a World Heritage Site. It is the last stronghold for the largest population of elephants and the last remaining Kordofanian giraffe in the DRC.
The park’s immense savannahs, grasslands, and woodlands, interspersed with gallery forests along the river banks and the swampy depressions, are home to four large mammals: the elephant, giraffe, hippopotamus, and above all the white rhinoceros.

Wildlife Viewing
In addition to the beautiful white rhinos, Garamba National Park is home to Buffaloes, lions, hyenas, elephants, giant forest hogs, giraffes, monkeys, and other animals which will serve a fantastic game viewing experience.
Bird Watching
The park authorities have registered just over 550 bird species in the park. On your next birding experience at this National Park, expect to see the fishing eagle, water thick knee, pied King Fisher, wattle plovers, pink backed pelicans and so many more.
Aquatic safari experiences
The Garamba river will give you a great opportunity for boat rides as well as sports fishing. The view of the amazing vegetation along the river will also present you not only with a much-needed relaxing experience but also exclusive photography opportunities.
Getting to Garamba National Park
Garamba is within driving distance of Juba, the capital of South Sudan as well as Arua in Uganda. It is however advisable that you access the park by chartered air flight as your tour guide will advise and reserve on your behalf on the day you intend to visit.
