Rwanda-Tanzania 6-day nature and wildlife experience.
For 6 days, you will have the opportunity to experience the best of Rwanda and Tanzania in this combo safari. We will focus on Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania, and of course the Ngorongoro conservation area for the world-famous crater.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
A driver/guide from Native Expeditions Safaris Limited will pick you up from the airport or hotel or other preferred location and treat you to a Kigali city tour that will end just in time for lunch. After having lunch, you will head towards the volcanoes National park where you will arrive in the evening.
Dinner and overnight stay at an accommodation of your choice.
Day 2: Mountain gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park
In the morning on day 2, you will head out to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters where you will be briefed about the gorilla trekking experience and together with a ranger, you will head into the forest.
This gorilla trekking will take you a minimum of 2 hours depending on where the gorillas are stationed at the time and you will be allowed 1 hour with them when you find them. After this tracking experience, you will then head back to your accommodation for relaxation and lunch.
In the late afternoon, you will have a cultural experience in the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village where you will experience a rare chance to meet local people, in their environment, with a taste of Rwanda’s authentic culture and traditions.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Manyara
After breakfast on day 3, you will be transferred to the airport to catch a flight to Kilimanjaro airport in Tanzania. The flight is about 2 hours long so you should be arriving in time for lunch. After your lunch, we will then drive out to Lake Manyara National Park where we will be arriving late in the evening.

Day 4: The Lake Manyara National Park experience
Lake Manyara National park is mostly known for the tree-climbing lions, the soda ash lake that attracts thousands and pink flamingos, one of Tanzania’s biggest elephant populations and breathtaking scenery.
On day 4 of this safari, you will have breakfast and head out for a game drive that will stretch all the way to the lunch hour. The game in Lake Manyara includes plenty of elephants, wildebeests along with so many giraffes, and buffaloes. In addition, the park is also very famous for its large number of zebras, impalas, warthogs, and waterbucks. On the slopes of the escarpment, you may need to search a little hard for the tinny and renowned shy kirk’s dik-dik and klipspringer.
The road circuit for game drives is limited and can be covered in about 3 to 4 hours where you can see the animals that are always on the move.
Later on this day, you will enjoy a boat cruise on the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surroundings and see several water animals.

Day 5: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
On the fifth day, after breakfast, we will be heading out to the Ngorongoro conservation area. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area spans vast expanses of highland plains, savanna, savanna woodlands, and forests with wildlife coexisting with semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists practicing traditional livestock grazing, it includes the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest caldera.
Ngorongoro crater which will be the highlight of this experience on day 5 is the largest unbroken caldera in the world. The crater, together with the Olmoti and Empakaai craters are part of the eastern Rift Valley, whose volcanism dates back to the late Mesozoic / early Tertiary periods and is famous for its geology. The property also includes Laetoli and Olduvai Gorge, which contain an important palaeontological record related to human evolution.
After this experience, you will retire to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Departure
You will check out of your lodge after breakfast on day 6 and enjoy one last game drive before being transferred to Arusha to catch your flight out of Tanzania
