DAY 3: THE ULTIMATE SERENGETI EXPERIENCE
At 14,763 sq km, the Serengeti is an epic place, and it’s renowned for its predators, especially lions, leopards, and cheetahs, with plenty of elephants in residence, too. A few black rhinos around Moru Kopjes offer a chance to glimpse all of the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, and buffalo), although the rhinos are very rarely seen. It’s also an incredible birdwatching destination, with over 500 species to spot.
Day 3 will be all about the Serengeti game drive and basking in the full experience of this magnificent National Park.
Later, in the afternoon, we shall follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Maasai Kopjes, this usually attracts many lions and large cobras, the Kopjes are known as weathered granite outcrops that are found around the plains and most of these are miniature ecosystems, providing shade as well as drinking water within the pools in the rocks after the heavy rains.
This makes the kopjes good for spotting wildlife species including the lions which sit near the water waiting for animals to come to drink.
We will then return to your accommodation of choice for dinner and overnight stay
DAY 4: TRANSFER TO NGORONGORO CRATER
On day 4, you will have breakfast at the lodge and start your transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will arrive at our destination in time for lunch and descend over 600m into the crater in order to view wildlife for a half day. Ngorongoro crater harbors lots of animals including; zebras, eland, buffalos, warthog, giant African elephants, as well as herds of wildebeest. The park also has a dense population of predators which include; lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, etc. we shall also visit Lake Magadi which is a large but shallow alkaline lake found in the southwestern corner that is the main feature of the crater.
