Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Depart Arusha with your Native Expeditions guide and travel to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive.

Explore groundwater forest, acacia woodland and the lake’s seasonal shoreline. The park supports elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, monkeys, hippos and prolific birdlife. Flamingo numbers vary with water levels and season, and sightings are not guaranteed.

Continue to your selected accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Overnight: Manyara or Karatu area

Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and onward to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy changing views of highlands, open grasslands and savannah along the way.

Enter the Serengeti and begin game viewing en route to your lodge or camp. The park supports lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs and many other species.

Arrive at your accommodation for dinner.

Overnight: Serengeti National Park

Day 3: Serengeti Game Drive and Transfer toward Ngorongoro

Start with an early game drive, an excellent time to search for predators and other active wildlife. Return for breakfast or continue with a packed meal, depending on the day’s plan.

Explore more of the Serengeti before travelling toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Great Migration’s location changes throughout the year, so sightings depend on season and rainfall.

Arrive near the crater rim or in the Karatu area for dinner and an overnight stay.

Overnight: Ngorongoro or Karatu area

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha

After an early breakfast, descend approximately 600 metres into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Search for lions, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas and elephants; black rhinos may be seen with luck.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site, ascend the crater and return to Arusha. Drop-off can be arranged at your hotel or, subject to suitable timing, the airport.
