Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Arusha to Mkomazi National Park

Your Native Expeditions guide will collect you from your Arusha hotel or the agreed pick-up point for the drive to Mkomazi National Park.

After arrival and park formalities, begin your first game drive across Mkomazi’s open plains and acacia woodlands. Look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, hartebeests and dry-country species such as the long-necked gerenuk.

Check in at your selected accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Overnight: Mkomazi area

Day 2: Full-Day Mkomazi Game-Viewing Experience

After breakfast, set out with a packed lunch for a full day in the park. Explore different habitats beneath the Pare and Usambara ranges while searching for wildlife and some of the hundreds of bird species recorded in the ecosystem.

A visit to the Mkomazi rhino sanctuary may be possible only with advance permission and according to current park arrangements; ordinary game drives do not guarantee a rhino sighting.

Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner.

Overnight: Mkomazi area

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Return to Arusha

Begin with an early game drive, when temperatures are cooler and wildlife may be more active. Return for breakfast, check out and start the journey back to Arusha.

Enjoy further sightings as you leave the park, then continue to your hotel, the airport or another agreed drop-off point in Arusha.
