Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha or Moshi to Tarangire National Park

Your Native Expeditions guide will collect you early from Arusha or Moshi and drive through the Maasai Steppe to Tarangire National Park.

Explore baobab-dotted plains, acacia woodland and the Tarangire River. The park is best known for elephants and also supports giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, antelopes, lions and varied birdlife.

After lunch and an afternoon game drive, leave the park and continue to your selected accommodation.

Overnight: Karatu or the Ngorongoro highlands

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend approximately 600 metres to the crater floor.

Spend the day searching for wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, lions, elephants and other resident wildlife. Black rhinos are present but uncommon, and all sightings depend on natural conditions.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater, continue game viewing and later return to your accommodation.

Overnight: Karatu or the Ngorongoro highlands

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park and Return to Arusha

After breakfast, descend toward the Great Rift Valley and enter Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive.

Explore forest, acacia woodland and lakeshore habitats while looking for monkeys, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, hippos and birdlife. Tree-climbing lions and flamingos may be seen, but their presence varies.

After lunch or a final game drive, return to Arusha for a hotel drop-off. An airport transfer can be arranged when flight timing allows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Great Migration guaranteed?
The herds move through the wider Serengeti ecosystem in response to rainfall and grazing. Your travel dates influence where migration-focused game drives should be planned.
Is Olduvai Gorge included?
It is best treated as an optional stop because timing, entry fees and operating arrangements may vary. Confirm it during quotation.
Can the final day connect with a flight?
Possibly, if the flight departs late enough. Share the confirmed schedule so the route and drop-off can be planned safely.
