Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda

A Native Expeditions representative will welcome you at Entebbe International Airport and transfer you to your accommodation.

Depending on your arrival time, an optional Entebbe excursion can be arranged.

Overnight: Entebbe

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, travel southwest to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Stop at the Equator for photographs before continuing through Mbarara and Uganda’s scenic countryside. Arrive in Bwindi in the late afternoon and settle into your lodge.

Overnight: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Report to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing before entering the rainforest with Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.

Trek through Bwindi in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Once the gorillas are located, spend the permitted time observing and photographing them.

An optional guided community or nature walk can be arranged after the trek, depending on time and energy levels.

Overnight: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 4: Return to Entebbe

Travel back to Entebbe, with stops for lunch, photographs and souvenir shopping along the way.

Arrive in the evening and prepare for the next stage of your East African safari.

Day 5: Fly to Nairobi and Transfer to the Maasai Mara

Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your flight to Nairobi.

A Native Expeditions representative will meet you on arrival and drive you to the Maasai Mara. Depending on your flight and arrival time, you may enjoy a short introductory game drive.

Overnight: Maasai Mara

Day 6: Maasai Mara Safari

Spend the day exploring the Maasai Mara on morning and afternoon game drives.

Look out for lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and numerous antelope species. During the migration season, large herds may cross into the reserve from the Serengeti.

Complete the day with an optional visit to a Maasai community.

Overnight: Maasai Mara

Day 7: Cross into Tanzania and Transfer to Serengeti

After breakfast, travel towards the Isebania border and complete the immigration process before continuing into Tanzania.

Proceed to Serengeti National Park, enjoying changing landscapes and wildlife sightings along the way.

Overnight: Serengeti National Park

Day 8: Full-Day Serengeti Safari

Spend the day exploring the Serengeti’s open plains, riverine areas and rocky kopjes.

Search for lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, wildebeest and zebras. Depending on the season and movement of the herds, you may also witness part of the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Overnight: Serengeti National Park

Day 9: Olduvai Gorge and Ngorongoro Crater

Travel towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at Olduvai Gorge to learn about its important archaeological discoveries and the history of early human evolution.

Continue to Ngorongoro and descend into the crater for an afternoon game drive. Possible sightings include lions, elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, hyenas and the endangered black rhino.

Overnight: Ngorongoro area

Day 10: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, travel to Tarangire National Park for morning and afternoon game drives.

The park is known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and the Tarangire River, which attracts abundant wildlife during the dry season.

Overnight: Tarangire area

Day 11: Morning Game Drive and Departure

Enjoy a final morning game drive in Tarangire before returning to your lodge for breakfast and check-out.

Transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport, where your safari ends. Additional accommodation can be arranged if required by your departure schedule.
