Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

A Native Expeditions representative will welcome you at Entebbe International Airport and transfer you to your accommodation.

Depending on your arrival time, an optional Entebbe excursion can be arranged.

Overnight: Entebbe

Day 2: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls

After breakfast, travel north to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino-tracking experience.

Continue to Murchison Falls National Park after lunch and settle into your lodge.

Day 3: Murchison Falls Game Drive and Boat Safari

Begin the day with a game drive across the park’s savannah plains. Look out for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeest and other wildlife.

In the afternoon, take a boat safari along the Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls. Hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous waterbirds are commonly seen along the riverbanks.

Complete the experience with a visit to the top of the falls, where the Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Travel northeast to Kidepo Valley National Park, one of Uganda’s most remote wilderness areas.

Enjoy views of northern Uganda and the changing landscapes of the Karamoja region. Depending on your arrival time and park arrangements, an evening game drive may be available.

Overnight: Kidepo Valley National Park

Day 5: Kidepo Game Drive and Cultural Experience

Begin the day with a game drive through Narus Valley.

Search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, jackals, antelopes and, with some luck, cheetahs or leopards. The park is also known for ostriches and other dry-country birds.

Later, visit a nearby Karamojong community to learn about traditional homesteads, pastoral life, music and dance.

Overnight: Kidepo Valley National Park

Day 6: Fly to Entebbe

Transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Entebbe.

After arriving, spend the afternoon relaxing. An optional sunset cruise on Lake Victoria may be arranged, depending on availability and the flight schedule.

Overnight: Entebbe

Day 7: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Take a scheduled or chartered flight from Entebbe to an airstrip serving Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Your guide will meet you on arrival and transfer you to your lodge. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for the gorilla trek.

Overnight: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing.

Accompanied by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, trek through the rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Once the gorillas are located, spend the permitted time observing and photographing them.

An optional Batwa cultural experience can be arranged after the trek, depending on time and energy levels.

Overnight: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Travel through southwestern Uganda to Lake Mburo National Park.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a boat safari in search of hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds along the lake’s shoreline.

Overnight: Lake Mburo National Park

Day 10: Lake Mburo Game Drive and Departure

Begin the final day with a game drive through Lake Mburo National Park.

Look out for zebras, giraffes, impalas, elands, buffaloes, topis and warthogs before travelling to Kampala or Entebbe.

Your guide will drop you at the airport or another agreed location.
