A Native Expeditions representative will collect you from Kigali International Airport, your hotel or another agreed location.

If you arrive early, enjoy a short Kigali city tour featuring selected attractions such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local markets or artisan shops.

Travel through Rwanda’s hilly countryside to Musanze, near Volcanoes National Park.

Overnight: Musanze

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for registration and a gorilla trekking briefing.

Accompanied by experienced guides and rangers, trek through the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The duration and difficulty of the trek depend on the gorillas’ location, terrain and weather.

Once the gorillas are located, spend the permitted time observing and photographing them.

Return to your lodge for relaxation. An optional community experience can be arranged if the trek finishes early enough.

Overnight: Musanze

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking and Return to Kigali

After breakfast, return to the park headquarters for your golden monkey tracking briefing.

Enter the bamboo forest with an experienced guide to search for a habituated golden monkey troop. Watch these active primates feed, climb and leap between bamboo stems.

After the experience, return to your lodge to change before travelling to Kigali.

Your guide will drop you at Kigali International Airport, your hotel or another agreed location. Travellers departing Rwanda should book a late-evening flight or arrange an additional night in Kigali.
