Primates and big cats encounter (6 days)

Experience Bwindi National Park for gorilla tracking and Murchison Falls National Park for the great wildlife safari. During this tour, you will meet African Big Five as well as other game as bushbucks, giraffes, as well as primates which include gorillas, chimpanzees, baboons among others.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

You will be picked from your hotel in Entebbe/ Kampala in the morning and set off a scenic drive to Bwindi National park with stopover at the equator for photography, refreshments and craft souvenir shopping. You will also have lunch in Mbarara before continuing to Bwindi National park (via Kabale) in the evening for dinner and overnight stay at a lodge or hotel of your choice.

DAY 2: GORILLA TRACKING AND TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI

Early morning after your breakfast, you will gather at the park headquarters at 7am for pre tracking briefing where you will get information about the dos and don’ts during your gorilla tracking experience. You will also be allocated the gorilla tracking group depending on your fitness level. At 8:30am, you will set off to the forest in search of these amazing apes. This may take 1-6 hours depending on their movement in their natural wild.

After your gorilla tracking experience, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight stay at a lodge of your choice. 

DAY 3: LEAVE BWINDI AND TRANSFER TO FORT PORTAL

In the morning on day 3, you will have breakfast and embark on a transfer trip to Fort portal for an overnight stay at a hotel of your choice.

DAY 4: TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

This is the day we will embark on a transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Also known as the Kabalega National Park, the Murchison Falls National Park is popularly known for having the world’s most powerful waterfall that emits large volumes of water about 300 cubic meters per second or 11,000 ft³/s at a very powerful pressure that cause the surrounding to tremble.

The park was first gazette in 1927 and today is the largest park in Uganda covering an area of 3840 sq km / 1483 sq miles.  It is commonly visited for Uganda Safari Tours because of its diverse safari activities and rich wildlife.

Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge of your choice.

DAY 5: MORNING GAME DRIVE AND AFTERNOON BOAT CRUISE

The first order of business on day 5 will be breakfast. After breakfast, you will head out for a game drive. These game drives in Murchison Falls National park are typically conducted in the early morning to allow you to catch most of the animals out in the open. You however have the option of the early evening drive which also enables you to view many of the animals on their way out to hunt. The Delta area, Buligi Penisular and the southern sector are the main game-viewing areas.

On the afternoon of day 5, you will enjoy the famous launch cruise. This 2-hour trip begins at Paraa and offers holidaymakers an opportunity to see various wildlife including large numbers of giant crocodiles, hippos and various birds like the rare shoebill stork. This offers great photographic opportunities. Most images you will find online for Murchison falls National park was shot during this cruise.

DAY 6: TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE

Check out and embark on the return journey to Kampala, Entebbe or your preferred drop-off point.
